Resolution
Our scanner uses an 8-element glass lens, a high-sensitivity color CCD with a resolution of 10,600 dpi, and a stable LED light source to deliver a measured resolution of 5,300 dpi or 273 megapixels in ultra-high resolution.
High dynamic range
Dynamic range is the range of light—from the darkest to the brightest—that can be captured on exposed film and read by a scanner. Our equipment captures more detail in the light and dark areas of analog film. This provides an effective usable dynamic range of 4.01 (using SilverFast Multi-Exposure / in accordance with ISO 21550:2004) and a theoretical maximum density of 4.8, delivering accurate colors and all the details in highlights and shadows.
Infrared channel
Photographic film emulsions and dye layers are mostly transparent to infrared light. However, dust, scratches, and other surface artifacts block infrared light. With SilverFast iSRD, dust, scratches, and artifacts are automatically removed, eliminating the need for tedious post-processing.
16 bits per channel
We generate 16-bit RAW scan data. This ensures a wide dynamic range, detailed reproduction, and color accuracy.
Color
We use a workflow with integrated color management and ensure that scanned images look exactly the same when printed and displayed.

Methodology for Digitizing Artworks at Color3arte: A Detailed Technical Approach
The digitization of artworks at Color3arte based on a combination of cutting-edge photographic technology and precise lighting techniques, with a focus on the fidelity and accuracy of the digital reproduction.
Use of High-Resolution Photography Technology: Digitization is performed using an advanced camera equipped with two DIGIC 6 processors and a low-pass filter. This equipment is designed to capture high-resolution images in large formats (A0 and larger), ensuring minimal noise interference and extremely accurate color reproduction.
Specialized Lighting and Polarization Techniques: The process involves the use of professional-grade lighting and polarization systems. These techniques are essential for accurately capturing the subtle details and color ranges of the original artwork, which are crucial for an authentic and detailed digital representation.
Preparing Files for High-Quality Prints: The resulting digital files are ideal for Giclée Fine Art Giclée prints (up to 100×150 cm at 300 dpi). These files maintain excellent fidelity in terms of color and detail, which is crucial for reproductions that preserve the artistic integrity of the original.
This methodology not only ensures high-quality digital reproduction but also preserves the essence and aesthetic value of the original works, making it possible to present and preserve them in the digital realm with exceptional detail and precision.
