Dejando de lado los obvios fallos que este año la organización ha prometido corregir, Salinas, para mí, volvió a ser eso, encontrarse con viejos y nuevos amigos, buenas olas, buenos ratos tanto dentro como fuera del agua… familia y Longboard.<\/p>\n Este video intenta recoger eso y aunque no salen todos los que deberían, todos estáis ahí. Todos los que hacéis Salinas con vuestra presencia, con vuestras ganas, con vuestra energía, con vuestra ilusión, estáis aquí y os pido perdón si no salís en el video, pero con tanto pico, tanto baño libre, tanta gente y tan pocoas horas, no he podido filmaros e incluiros a todos…. por lo que esto es simplemente una pincelada…<\/p>\n _______________<\/p>\n ESTO ES SALINAS, is my vision of what was last years festival. Leaving aside the obvious mistakes that the organization has promised to correct, Salinas was again all it has allways been, a meeting of good old and new friends, good waves, good times in and out of the water… simply the Longboard Family.<\/p>\n This video, tries to reflect just that, and allthough not everyone that should be in it, was filmed… everyone IS in the video in one way or another. The word “Festival” is the key here because even though surfing competitions are held, this four day event offers a heady mix of good surf, good sounds, great people and lots and lots of parties in a way only the Spanish can do best.<\/p>\n The festival has been running for 11 years now and is considered to be the largest of its kind in Europe and is in the top three Longboard events in the world. This is very apparent by the eclectic mix of people attending who, along with the locals, create a nice relaxed vibe that invites you to stay even if you are not that interested in surfing. Grab a beer, find a nice spot to perch and just observe.<\/p>\n The festival is a bit of a Mecca for longboarders and since it was first held back in 2001 (which back then was more of a reunion than a festival), the party has grown and grown and is now marked indelibly on the calendars of both pro’s and amateurs alike.<\/p>\n The Salinas Longboard festival is just one of many surfing events that take place throughout Asturias and visitors should also keep in mind that classic waves such as Rodiles and Xago are just a short distance away. Vans riders Clovis Donizetti, Antoine Delpero and Mikel Urigoitia, were invited to the 12th edition of the Vans Salinas longboard Festival. Between music concert, film festival, few beers, the team enjoyed some incredible waves, to show us their talent during the longboard classic (1 fin, No leash) event. El del 2008 fue un festival memorable, quizás el último de la primera etapa de vida del festival, antes de que todo cambiara y se volviera, como dicen muchos, demasiado grande. Tres años después aterrizarían en nuestras playas los heraldos del Duct Tape. 2008 nos trajo a Mitch Abshere y Alex Knost. Este vídeo será una actualización de la promo que hice aquel año. Those summers in which the ACL (the first spanish Longboard Circuit), the people we met and who became our brothers. Surfers from all corners of our geography converged in Asturias at the beggining of the summer vacation. 2008 was a memorable festival, maybe it can be considered the last of the first chapter of the Festivals’ life, the last one before everything changed and it became like many now say, too big. Three years after that, the Duct Tape Heralds brought the biggest show so far to our festival. But 2008 brough us the first new old school loggers we had seen surf our beaches and our waves… Mitch Abshere and Alex Knost.
